PCES earns USDA certified biobased product label with 100% biobased content
BioPCM®, a breakthrough material in thermal energy storage, has received its USDA Certified Biobased Product Label from the USDA’s BioPreferred program
Third-party verification for a product’s biobased content is administered through the USDA BioPreferred program, an initiative created by the 2002 Farm Bill and expanded by the 2014 Farm Bill. One of the goals of the program is to increase the development, purchase and use of biobased products. Use of these renewable materials displaces the need for non-renewable chemicals.
Biobased PCM is put to the test at new high school in Arizona
A pilot study is underway to gauge the effectiveness of phase change material to reduce and shift HVAC load at a new high school outside Phoenix, Arizona. Two nearly identical buildings – one with BioPCM installed in walls and ceilings, one without – will allow the effect of the PCM to be measured. Learn more from Mark E. Richards, who served as project manager, applications engineer and systems installer for Phase Change Energy Solutions.
PCES joins the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil
Phase Change Energy Solutions is proud to announce that we have joined the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil. The RSPO is a not-for-profit that unites stakeholders from the 7 sectors of the palm oil industry to develop and implement global standards for sustainable palm oil. The RSPO has developed a set of environmental and social criteria which companies must comply with in order to produce Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO). When they are properly applied, these criteria can help to minimize the negative impact of palm oil cultivation on the environment and communities in palm oil-producing regions.
